Magnum Electric is seeking an experienced Chief Electrical Estimator / Director of Pre-Construction to join our growing team in our Fargo office. The ideal individual will have experience in design-build and plan & spec commercial/light industrial electrical estimating with knowledge of multi-family/hospitality is a plus. Magnum Electric is a growing company working on commercial/hospitality/medical/light industrial projects throughout the nation. This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing all estimating functions, including the development of project budgets, estimates, cost tracking, project support, and negotiating projects. This role also requires the managing and coaching of a team of estimators.

Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:

-Manage department activities, set expectations

-Provide conceptual budgets, complete estimates, negotiate projects, price changes

-Provide value engineering/cost savings options

-Layout design-build projects and coordinate with other trades

-Review construction plans and specifications and determine an estimate of the electrical needs and costs

-Review bidding documents to determine what is required to submit a proposal on the project

-Review bidding/construction documents and determine all items necessary for a complete proposal

-Solicit and review vendor quotes

-Provide written proposals, scope letters, and clarifications

-Attend necessary pre-bid meetings or project interviews

-Provide detailed information to hand-off projects to the Project Manager

-Negotiate project scopes and contracts

-Develop and maintain professional relationships within our industry

-Track estimates and follow up with customers

-Plan and manage upcoming project opportunities

-Stay up to date with current industry trends and techniques

Requirements:

-10+ years of experience estimating commercial and light industrial electrical projects

-Experience with projects from $100k to $ 10 million

-Experience with design-build projects

-Excellent knowledge of NEC and standards

-Excellent knowledge of industry-standard principles, designs, and techniques

-Ability to read and understand contract documents and specifications

-Excellent verbal and written communication skills

-Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)

-Experience with Bluebeam, or ability to quickly learn

-Must be able to efficiently manage time and meet deadlines

-Must be able to manage multiple estimates

-Must have strong business acumen

-Experience in supervision, coaching, and staff development

Pay: $100k - $150k base + production-based bonus (uncapped)

Potential OTE: $350k+
