General: Fully understands project management requirements and executes work with moderate oversight of Principal‐In‐Charge and contributes to/leads efforts supporting firm’s success/growth
Experience
1. 8+ years
2. Professional degree in Landscape Architecture (BSLA, BLA, MLA), Architecture (BA, MA), or Planning
3. Licensed Landscape Architect or Architect is preferred, not required.

Skill sets
- Ability to clearly articulate the company’s mission, expertise, and body of work
- Ability to manage medium to large scale projects and has successfully executed complete conceptual through CD packages for other projects
- Understanding of when support is needed from senior staff and ability to execute and integrate direction/input provided.
- Full understanding of the roles, responsibilities, and deliverables of each team member (consultants, clients, contractors) and ability to understand other consultant’s deliverables and be able to evaluate them to identity scope holes and coordination issues
- Ability to represent the company’s in discussions with client, client representative consultants and other team members
- Demonstrates superior conceptual and/or technical design skills and shows a significant understanding of one or more key aspects of Landscape Architectural and/or Planning design and implementation that is essential to the firm
- Has a complete understanding of the company’s office standards, protocols, and systems relative to graphic/document preparation, file management, and operational systems (time sheets, vacation requests, etc.) and is able to monitor teams adherence to same
- Demonstrates complete understanding of components and design process related to large and/or complex planning and site design projects
- Participate in site visits and reviews with or without PIC
- Ability to direct, teach, review, and comment on detail design and/or planning principals to junior staff
- Ability to motivate team and junior staff
- Successfully demonstrates ability to meet the company’s expectations in the production of high quality graphic/illustrative deliverables
- Understands preparation requirements for construction documents including specifications
- Ability to direct (with minimal support of senior staff) preparation of conceptual and schematic deliverables as well as construction documents including grading, drainage, lighting, planting, and construction details
- Has ability to identify what construction details will be required and their requirements relative to materials and constructability
- Understands the components within proposals and use of proposal templates and can prepare draft scopes and initial pricing.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and delegate tasks
Responsibilities
- Provide Project Management duties or other major roles (construction observation, design tasks, etc.) on projects
- Participate in site visits and reviews (with PIC when required)
- Refine (or oversee refinement) of design input from Principal‐In‐Charge, Design Principal, and Founding Principal. Includes refinement of initial design by others as well an initiation of own design concepts and recommendations
- Communicate directly with Client and/or client’s representative
- Coordination with Client’s consultants and agencies
- Manage the company’s consultants and, in collaboration with PIC, prepare drafts of the company’s consultant’s scopes of work
- Understand the company’s consultant scopes, schedules, deliverables and substantially contribute to scope preparation in conjunction with PIC
- Direct and participate as necessary in the preparation (formatting and graphic execution) of illustrative deliverables (Adobe Suite and hand drawings)
- Direct and participate as necessary in the preparation (formatting and graphic execution) of Construction documents (CAD drafting)
- Direct and participate as necessary in materials and product research
- Ensure efficient use of staff and provide PIC sufficient lead time if more staff is needed or scheduled staff will be released from project or available on a temporary basis to other projects
- Support meeting deadlines, quality expectations, and budget goals and ensure PIC is aware of status of each
- Review and redline interim plans and drawings as well as milestone and final packages prior to QC reviews by PIC and other contributing Principals
- Willingness and ability to both manage projects and support other PM’s in a production and/or sub‐PM as needed
- Participate in other projects where unique skill sets can be utilized
- Lead one or more office initiatives (image library, products/materials library, detail library, recruiting, marketing, professional visibility, etc.)
