Job Description: HVAC and Plumbing Installation Estimator and Manager

We are seeking a skilled and experienced HVAC and Plumbing Installation Estimator and Manager to join our dynamic team. This role requires an individual with a strong technical background in HVAC and plumbing systems, along with exceptional project management and estimation skills. The ideal candidate will play a key role in accurately estimating project costs, coordinating installations, and managing a team of technicians to ensure successful project execution.

Responsibilities:

1. Estimation:

- Analyze project specifications, blueprints, and scope of work to accurately estimate the cost of HVAC and plumbing installations.

- Collaborate with sales, engineering, and procurement teams to gather necessary information for precise cost projections.

- Utilize industry best practices and historical data to create comprehensive project estimates.

- Prepare detailed proposals and bids for potential clients while adhering to company pricing strategies.

2. Project Management:

- Oversee the complete lifecycle of HVAC and plumbing installation projects from initiation to completion.

- Develop project schedules, allocate resources, and ensure projects are completed within specified timelines and budgets

- Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and team members to maintain alignment and manage expectations.

- Identify potential risks and proactively implement mitigation strategies to prevent delays or cost overruns.

3. Technical Expertise:

- Possess a strong understanding of HVAC and plumbing systems, including their design, installation, and maintenance requirements.

- Provide technical guidance and support to project teams, addressing any technical challenges that may arise during installation.

- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and advancements to ensure compliance and optimal project outcomes.

4. Team Leadership:

- Supervise and lead a team of HVAC and plumbing technicians, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.

- Delegate tasks effectively, set clear expectations, and provide regular feedback to team members to enhance their skills and performance.

- Promote a culture of safety, quality, and professionalism, ensuring adherence to company standards and protocols.

5. Documentation and Reporting:

- Maintain accurate records of project details, expenses, and progress, and ensure proper documentation is submitted in a timely manner.

- Prepare regular reports and updates for senior management, highlighting project status, financial performance, and potential issues.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred, NOT required).

- Proven experience in estimating and managing HVAC and plumbing installation projects.

- Strong knowledge of HVAC and plumbing systems, codes, and regulations.

- Excellent project management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.

- Proficiency in relevant software tools for estimation, scheduling, and project management.

- Effective communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

- Problem-solving aptitude and the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.

- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., PE, LEED, PMP) are a plus.
