Skills and Experience:

This position will be responsible for overseeing all related activities on projects. This role will also be

responsible for planning and managing all direct labor and ensuring the safe execution of mechanical activities on the project.

Essential Job Duties:

·      Leading Safety Culture for project.

·      Coordinate all required manpower, equipment, small tools, and material

·      Supervise Craft crews to ensure completion of the work to schedule, quality and budget requirements

·      Ensure the allocation of construction work hours to relevant cost codes and prepare weekly construction progress reports to measure actual versus planned progress for all phases of the direct construction work

·      Ensure work completion in accordance with the latest revision of issued for construction (IFC) drawings, specification, Request for Information (RFIs) and other project design information

·      Work daily and weekly with the project control team for planning and scheduling installations to meet the project milestones and objectives

·      Supervises the development of project schedules and monitors production to assure timely project completion.

·      Reviews cost reports and makes analysis to assist in reducing costs and maintaining productivity.

·      Conducts regular project inspections and advises Project Superintendent/Project Manager of work progress, quality of work and conditions requiring attention regarding safety.

·      Administers project policies and procedures.

·      Coordinates with engineers, inspectors, and clients/owner representatives to isolate project issues and assists in developing solutions.

·      Regularly conducts safety meetings and provide assistance to supervision in addressing areas and conditions requiring attention.

·      Conducts regular meetings with project supervision to review project progress and to plan future construction activity.

·      Determines the necessity of construction equipment and assures equipment is properly maintained.

·      Oversight of start-up and commissioning.

Job Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a strong leader to direct plumbing, piping, HVAC, sheet metal, and other mechanical crews on commercial construction projects. This position could be responsible for managing multiple jobs, and supervising 1 or more trade groups. Examples of common projects we build include healthcare facilities, data centers, mission critical projects, manufacturing facilities, office complexes, education, high-rises, hotels, and other projects.

Essential Duties

·      Serves as a leader on projects and provides technical expertise to partners in order to adhere to all construction processes designed to complete projects safely and with a high standard of quality.

·      Manages, coaches, and develops direct reports. Conducts timely, complete and meaningful performance management conversations.

·      Establishes and adjusts work sequences to meet construction schedules utilizing knowledge of equipment/tools capacities and assigned personnel.

·      Confirms earned value of work and accuracy of Forecasted Percent Completions.

·      Inspects work in progress and completed work periodically to ensure conformance to specifications.

·      Performs all required safety observations and eliminates construction and job site hazards as they are recognized to reduce safety incidents and their severity.

·      Understands and practices Quality/LEAN principles (pull planning, six-week look ahead, value mapping, constraint logs, etc.).

·      Ability to budget projects by estimating worker hour requirements to meet the needs of the construction schedule and project budget. Monitors schedules to ensure they match project schedules. Provides material takeoff, estimate and pricing for changes to work scope.

·      Assists in resolving construction problems (lack of productivity, work interfaces, required manpower, etc.). Advises senior level supervision and project management of potential problems, work interferences, schedule difficulties, etc. Assists in circumventing/resolving such problems as required.

·      Maintains liaison with other departments, (i.e., Purchasing, Quality Control, Engineering, etc.) to ensure all required materials, equipment, inspections, etc., support craft activities and project schedule.

·      Conducts pre-job and planning meetings to ensure all project team members understand contract terms and conditions, clauses, schedules or any unusual requirements of the project.

 

Minimum Requirements

·      5+ years of experience leading mechanical trades in commercial construction.

·      Bachelor's Degree in Construction Science, Building Science, Construction Management or related field is preferred.

·      Must possess associated licenses and/or certifications required by trade for the position.

·      Construction Superintendent certification is preferred.

·      Needs experience in mechanical construction

·      Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods.

·      Expert knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards.

·      Ability to read and interpret blueprints, coordination and/or BIM drawings, submittals, specifications, details and job orders.

·      Understanding of all facets of the construction process.

·      Ability to plan and see the "big picture".

·      Competent in conflict and crisis management.

·      Leadership skills.

·      Excellent time and project management skills.
