Job Overview:

Join our client's team of industry experts as Chief Estimator and spearhead one of their estimating business units. This full-time opportunity offers a chance to manage a team of professionals, steer all estimating activities, and contribute to our success by securing commercial construction projects of various sizes.


Responsibilities:

  • Project Evaluation: Analyze proposed projects and determine their feasibility.
  • Accuracy & Compliance: Oversee bid/budget reviews for accuracy, production feasibility, and adherence to best practices and corporate guidelines.
  • Quality Control: Develop and implement quality control systems for consistent pricing, production rates, and estimating techniques.
  • Project Hand-off: Ensure smooth project hand-off procedures are completed on all required projects.
  • Estimating Expertise: Assist with conceptual estimating, budgeting, and pricing.
  • Team Leadership: Provide administrative and technical guidance to others on contract negotiations, change orders, and more.
  • Business Development: Actively engage in building strong customer relationships and business development initiatives.
  • Communication & Improvement: Chair estimating meetings to facilitate team communication, continuous improvement, collaboration, and training planning.


Qualifications:

  • Experience & Expertise: Minimum 8 years of estimating experience in the wall and ceiling industry, with a proven record of accomplishment of securing large, complex commercial projects.
  • Leadership: Minimum 3 years of experience supervising, coaching, and developing personnel.
  • Bid Review Proficiency: Demonstrated expertise in conducting comprehensive bid reviews.
  • Accuracy & Speed: Proven ability to deliver accurate and well-crafted estimates and proposals on time.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of building code standards, material pricing, construction methods in the wall and ceiling industry, and local construction markets.
  • Software Skills: Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, OnCenter estimating software, and reading/understanding specifications and drawings.


Bonus Points:

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field.
  • Competency with Spectrum, Bluebeam, and PlanGrid software.
